BUY / PLANNER

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The buyer/planner is responsible for source selection and procurement functions directly associated with the company's needs for indirect materials and services, fixed assets and tooling, and select production materials and services. These products and services are to be secured at cost quality and at delivery competitive levels consistent with company policy and performance standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Initiates purchase orders and amendments for parts, services and/or special tools; arranges for submission and inspection of sample products as required; maintains close coordination with plant engineering to ensure timely execution of product and services sourcing activities.
  • Secures and analyzes quotations, negotiates prices and terms with suppliers, and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities.
  • Studies market prices and trends, engineering developments, and manufacturing method improvements applicable to assigned responsibilities; advises company activities with concurrence of a senior buyer and/or the director of purchasing.
  • Interviews and confers with current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics inventory control and management; negotiates prices and delivery terms with guidance from a senior buyer or the director of purchasing for assigned responsibilities.
  • Coordinates the planning of recent schedules and inventory control parameters for the assigned products and or as arranged with requisitioners.

  • Some production control responsibilities:
    • Compiles essential information, such as production rates, materials used, inventories, etc. for the efficient completion of status reports

    • Work closely with internal and external suppliers to ensure all goods are received within the required timescales and to required quality levels

TEST TECHNICIAN – FREMONT, CA

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This position is responsible for performing all mechanical and related functions to manufacturing high quality electrical equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (DESIGN / PRODUCT SUPPORT) – PORTLAND, OR

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Engineer will support our low and medium voltage product engineering and service efforts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform design, programming, troubleshooting and commissioning job functions as needed to support IEM’s products and to achieve customer goals.
  • Create drawing packages for manufacture of custom switchgear and switchboards to applicable industry standards.
  • Work with mechanical designers to layout out and create rough front views/plan views of switchgear and switchboards.
  • Select components and create detailed bills of materials for our products.
  • Write sequence of operation documents to define automatic system functionality.
  • Complete programming assignments for automation components, protective relays, digital meters, communication devices, etc.
  • Complete short field assignments where troubleshooting, programming, commissioning, mechanical or electrical installation or design consultation is required (generally less than 5 days at a time and not to exceed 35% of total time).

  • Occasional supervision of a small task-oriented team may be required

FIELD SERVICE COORDINATOR – FREMONT, CA

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The coordinator will receive field service requests and work with department heads to find and schedule technical resources. The coordinator will be responsible for developing and maintaining superior customer service relationships.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Coordinate scheduling between Customers and Field Service Engineers/Technicians for onsite visits and support requests.
  • Provides Field Service Engineers/Technicians with required project information and documentation for each onsite visit.
  • Make travel arrangements and create field service work folders with relevant information.
  • Maintain and update the project databases and scheduling calendars.
  • Answer customer inquiries by providing account related information, product specification information, prepare and distribute specific engineering materials.
  • Coordinate with RMA on processing of returns for repairs, replacement, or credit.
  • Order entry to all spare parts and service orders.
  • Develop solid relationships with our customers.
  • Oversee customer service areas including purchase orders, cost tracking, and asset tracking.

SHIPPING/RECEIVING CLERK – LANGLEY, BC

You will be responsible for picking, packing, shipping, receiving, recording and controlling the movement of parts, supplies and materials to and from the warehouse as well as supporting the shop floor. Creation of export paperwork (Bills of Lading, NAFTA forms, Customs paperwork, Commercial Invoices) will also be included. This position is PHYSICALLY DEMANDING.

Requirements: A minimum 2 years of experience in the warehousing industry including international shipping and the creation of export paperwork are required. The ability to lift 40 lbs, forklift experience and basic computer skills (Word & Excel) are also a must. The ideal candidate must excel in providing superior customer service, being detail oriented, and having excellent verbal and written communication skills. Being able to work overtime and with minimal direction is also a must.


MARINE SERVICE TECHNICIAN – JACKSONVILLE, FL

This position is responsible for testing functionality of individual marine components and validating the overall functionality of a completed project and traveling into the field to perform site commissioning.

Essential Functions

  • Perform wire checks, Hi-Pots and various forms of electrical testing.
  • Validate functionality of projects as compared to the prepared Sequence of Ops.
  • Complete all required paperwork and posts in the appropriate job folder.
  • Perform on-site testing and verification to ensure proper installation.
  • Interact with customers both via e-mail and on-site to ensure customer satisfaction.

    • SALES ENGINEER (SWITCHGEAR – LA AREA)

      As a Sales Engineer for IEM in the Greater LA Area, you will be responsible for the sales of IEM Power distribution products (MV/LV Switchgear, Switchboards, Panelboards) through distribution and direct channels. This includes developing and maintaining the large Electrical Contractor accounts, Electrical Consulting Engineer accounts, Electrical Wholesale/Distribution accounts and developing contacts with key end user accounts.

      Requirements: A technical degree or equivalent and a minimum 3 years’ experience in the sale of power distribution equipment (MV/LV switchgear/switchboards). A strong track record of negotiating medium and large project orders, successfully developing new contacts, maintaining current relationships with major contractors throughout the sales cycle and maximizing client potential is a must. Experience generating accurate project proposals utilizing MV/LV switchgear to present a complete bid package is required. A self-motivated individual with a high level of professionalism, excellent communication, presentation and negotiating skills are also required. Ideal candidate will be known in the greater LA electrical equipment market and will have developed a trust with a core group of existing contractors/distributors.
